First take a look at the artists we have provided for you. Looking at their works will help you to come up with your own ideas for your Mini Movie Project. When looking at the artists think about the message they are trying to portray and think about whether or not you would want to create a Mini Movie that portrays a similar message. Do not settle on a message too quickly. Look through all of the artists and think about issues you come across in your life. Brainstorm and jot down a list of ideas that you may have.

• This is a link to some artists who use the environment and its protection as a message they convey in their artwork. Do you care about recycling and saving the planet? Then maybe this is a site you would enjoy!

Check out the animations we have provided for you. These will help you to understand what a stop motion animation is. Stop motions can vary greatly and there are many ways to create a successful stop motion. Again, look at these for inspiration, but do not decide on something too quickly. Jot down ideas.

Each of these videos shows a different technique you could use. You can incorporate a white board or chalk board, use play-do to create objects, have your hands be part of the video, etc. So get creative and think what objects could work

BLOG.

As a final inspiration look at the blogs by some of your peers about issues that may be relevant to you. These students live differently than you might be used to and reading about their lives may help you to come up with an idea for your Mini Movie. Try to think of messages you want to portray that are not specific to you and where you live. Think about issues in your state, country, or even the entire world. Again,  write down ideas.

Your teacher has assigned groups of four for you to work with. This is a collaborative piece and listening to each other’s ideas for the project is of utmost importance. Work together and each person should put in the same amount of work and time.

Discuss with each other the ideas you wrote down. Narrow it down to one idea that you all like and would enjoy making a Mini Movie about. Why do you like this idea the most? Really put thought into what message you want to send!

Next, brainstorm together about some objects that you could use to portray the message you want to get across through your movie. Use a minimum of five objects and a maximum of as many objects as you would like. These objects can include anything, for example, you could use toys, furniture, trash, food, school supplies and much more. Make sure you bring objects to the next class.
