The Colors Are Missing!

We had a crisis in Kindergarten through Second Grade in which the colors were stolen by Mr. Boring. The students heard the story of the colors (who were all drawn as characters) and how they were hiding from Mr. Boring. The students had to learn all about the colors in order to find them, for the world was left in black and white.

We learned about who the colors were friends with (analogous), who the colors were not friends with (complementary) and who made the colors happy (white=tint) and who made the colors sad (black=shade).

After finding the colors, the students had the chance to make artwork with a variety of materials and using only one color.
