Tree Silhouettes

In first and second grade, we talked about silhouettes as well as warm and cool colors. Each student created an abstract painting using warm or cool colors. I try to give the students as much choice as possible and scaffolding this choice thinking is high on my priority list. With the backgrounds complete, each student created a tree silhouette. They were very creative with their fun, whimsical trees and the result was amazing!
